On Thursday 29th April we were lucky enough to have a free workshop about 1066. This workshop looked at the Battle of Hastings but also King William's ability to turn a negative into a positive. For example, when he saw Haley's Comet he saw it as a good omen that one day he may be king while others were convinced that it meant the end of the world! The children learned about the historical events leading up to the battle and also were encouraged to have King Williams positive outlook. Towards the end of the workshop they were given techniques to help them be calm and relax. It was a fantastic workshop and the children really enjoyed it. The facilitators of the workshop also remarked on what wonderful children we had at this school and we couldn't agree more!
