ACE - Year 1
We have been learning about plants, animals and healthy eating this term.
We have used this information to answer our topic question –
‘Why Should People Visit Dartford Park?
We decided that people might want to visit the park to enjoy a picnic with their family and friends. We used our previous learning about healthy foods to decide on a healthy snack people could take to Dartford Park. We decided on a healthy pizza topped with delicious vegetables! We wrote the instructions for making this and even made healthy food from playdough!
Next, we decided that people might like to go to the park to see animals. We used the information from classwork to write a fact file about animals such as a fox, insect or dog and had great fun linking our learning from our house designs last term to make a ladybird model from junk!
Finally, we agreed that some people might want to visit the park to see the wide variety of plants and trees. We used our previous learning about plants to help us write a plant leaflet. We had fun making a vase of flowers from junk too!
We all enjoyed designing and making bunting to take with us to the park. We used many of the skills such as cutting and joining the flags together with glue but decided that sewing was the best way to keep the bunting secure!
So, we then had to answer the topic question – Why Should People Visit Dartford Park?
We all agreed so that people can visit the animals, see the plants and trees whilst enjoying a healthy picnic with their friends and family!
We hope that you enjoy our PowerPoint!
