Home School Agreement
School
The school will work in partnership with parents and carers to:
- provide a safe and happy environment where all children are valued, respected and listened to.
- provide high quality teaching and an engaging curriculum to meet the needs of all our pupils.
- assess pupil’s needs and provide appropriate support using the resources available.
- provide opportunities for your child to practise what they have learnt at home.
- encourage and support your child to aim high, develop resilience and do their best at all times.
- promote each child’s health, safety, well-being and happiness.
- regularly share your child’s progress through parent consultation meetings and an annual report.
- achieve high standards of behaviour by providing opportunities for children to develop positive social relationships, self-esteem and a sense of responsibility.
- keep parents informed of key information, meetings, workshops and events through regular newsletters and notices, as well as keeping our website up-to-date.
- Listen and take note of any shared concerns.
Parents/Carers
Parents and carers will work in partnership with the school to:
- make sure that my child regularly attends school and arrives no later than 8:50am, wearing appropriate uniform.
- ensure my child wears an appropriate PE kit on designated PE days.
- let the school know of any concerns or worries that may affect my child’s learning, behaviour or ability to do home learning so that this can be resolved quickly.
- support and work with the school to ensure that the behaviour policies of the school are maintained and that my child treats others kindly and respectfully.
- attend meetings with my child’s teacher and other staff, aiming to be positive and productive, to support moving my child on in their learning.
- assist and encourage home learning (via our Tapestry and Teams platforms) and listen to my child read regularly.
- regularly read information in newsletters and on the school website so that I am kept up-to-date with important details of relevant policies, meetings, events and information about my child.
- be respectful and polite in my communication with school.
Pupil
I will be a leader of learning by:
- Attending school regularly and on time.
- Wearing the correct school uniform and tying back my hair if it is long.
- Wearing my PE kit to school on PE days.
- Only wearing flat studs in my ears if they are pierced (none on PE day).
- Being responsible for my school work and home learning.
- Being polite, helpful and considerate to everyone within and outside of school.
- Respecting the views of other people and taking good care of property and equipment.
- Reflecting on my behaviour and learning and learn from all experiences.
- Sharing any worries I may have with a member of staff.
- Representing my school by showing the school values and following our Westgate Ways: Respect, Independence, Collaboration, Kindness, Excellence, Equality and Resilience.
